Jerry has a very diverse research program and provides programmatic leadership for several interdisciplinary research teams which involve determining biological mechanisms of nutritional responses in pigs; assessing the nutritional value of corn co-products from ethanol production; feeding value of fats and oils; feed safety, biosecurity, and environmental impacts of feed ingredients; and the role of feed ingredients and additives in swine health and productivity.
Bio:
Shurson’s role in RPTC is to ask uncomfortable questions and provide perspectives on environmental sustainability and One Health of pork production systems.
