My research focuses on the idea that stakeholders have been exposed to a variety of messaging that has influenced both perceived and real communication barriers. Subjects include swine caretakers, animal science undergraduate students, practicing swine veterinarians, and pork consumers. The expected outcomes are to explore perceived swine welfare barriers, identify where messaging could be crafted and implemented, and identify and rank real welfare barriers to drive future research.
